The Storm stops the car being driven by anybody who cannot produce the tag, the code or the app, on almost any vehicle. The S5-VTS adds Thatcham category S5 monitored tracking with driver recognition on top: it carries an Automatic Driver Recognition tag, so a car moving without that tag present is an alert in its own right, watched by a staffed control centre around the clock.
Fit the Storm and the S5-VTS as this package and we link the two together at the fitting stage: if the Storm notices an attempt on the ignition without the tag, the code or the app, the S5-VTS's control centre already knows about it as well, and will call you. That link is not a feature either product carries on its own out of the box, and it is not something you get by simply buying both separately.
The Storm's tag, code or app stop the engine running. The S5-VTS's driver recognition tag is a separate signal to the control centre that something is wrong, even in the rare case the Storm is somehow defeated.
Where an S7 tracker will not satisfy a policy that names Thatcham S5, the S5-VTS does, so this is the pairing to reach for once you know your insurer wants driver recognition specifically.
The Storm's CAN bus, FD-CAN or old-school wiring support means this pairing is not limited to newer cars, which matters on a van or an older vehicle a straightforward alarm and tracker combination would struggle with.

We link the Storm to the S5-VTS when we fit them together, so if the Storm notices an attempt on the ignition without the tag, the code or the app, the control centre already knows about it too and will call you to check, whether or not the car has actually gone anywhere yet.

No. The Storm stops the engine running for anybody without the tag, code or app. The S5-VTS's job starts if the car is taken some other way entirely, and its driver recognition tag is a second, independent signal that something is wrong.
