This website sets no cookies of its own, and nothing at all unless you press play on a video. That is why you have not been shown a banner asking you to accept them.

What that means in practice

We do not store anything on your device to identify you, remember you between visits, or follow you to other websites. There is no advertising network on this site, no social media tracking pixels, and no third party analytics script.

Why we have built it this way

Most cookie banners exist because a site is sharing visitor data with advertising networks. We do not need to do that to fit car alarms, so we have not.

It also makes the site faster, which matters more than most people realise when you are reading on a phone with one bar of signal.

What we do use

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which record things like the pages requested and the time of the request. That is ordinary technical record keeping that every web server does, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

The fonts used on this site are served by Google Fonts. Your browser requests those files from Google, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request, in the same way it would for any file downloaded from another domain.

If you press play on a video

Some of our product pages carry a short video. Until you press play, it is only a still image served from this website, and nothing has been requested from the company that hosts the video. Your browser has not contacted them and they do not know you are here.

When you press play, the player loads and sets a single session cookie of its own. That cookie is what allows the video to play, it lasts until you close your browser, and it is not used for advertising. We have built it this way deliberately: you choose whether that happens, rather than it happening to everybody who opens the page.

If you fill in the form

The callback form sends what you type directly to us by email. It does not store anything in your browser. What happens to those details is covered in our privacy policy.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics or anything else that uses cookies, we will update this page first, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
