Product description

For your peace of mind

Pandora Storm Plus

The Storm Plus takes the Storm's Thatcham CAT 2 immobiliser and adds the layer the plain Storm deliberately leaves out: tracking and connectivity. Underneath, it authorises the same three ways, an encrypted Bluetooth tag, a code sequence on your own dash and steering wheel buttons where your vehicle supports it, or the Pandora Connect app, and fits the same range of wiring, CAN bus, FD-CAN or the traditional way on older cars, vans and ATVs.

What is new is that the car can now reach you. GPS positioning shows you where it is in the Pandora Connect app, and alerts travel over Bluetooth when you are close and GSM or a 4G push notification when you are not, as a call, a text, or both. The first six months of that connection are free, then it runs at £70 for six months or £125 for twelve.

AntiHijack is built in for the rarer, nastier case where somebody tries to take the car while you are still in it: if the Bluetooth tag leaves the car after the engine has started, it brings the engine to a safe, silent stop within about a minute, rather than after a confrontation. Remote start is available as an optional extra on vehicles that support it, alongside monitoring fuel level, battery voltage and engine temperature from the app.

What can the Storm Plus do?

Everything the Storm does

The same Thatcham CAT 2 immobiliser, the same choice of tag, code or app, and the same wide wiring support. Nothing about the base protection is different.

Now it can reach you

GPS tracking and alerts over GSM and 4G, so you know when something happens rather than finding out later.

It tells you straight away

A call, a text, or a push notification the moment the system is triggered, wherever you are.

If it happens while you're in it

AntiHijack brings the engine to a safe, silent stop if the tag leaves the car after it has started, giving you a way out rather than a confrontation.

Warm before you get in

Remote start is available as an optional extra on vehicles that support it.

It satisfies the insurer

Thatcham CAT 2 approved, certificate TSC523. Send us your policy wording and we will confirm it before anything is booked.

Pandora Connect

For iOS and Android

Watch the explainer

Monitor, control and track your car in real time, from the phone already in your pocket. The apps are built for both Android and iOS, and they work with most smartwatches too.

  • Arm and disarm

Lock the system down or open it up from wherever you happen to be, without reaching for a fob.

  • Remote engine start

Start the engine from the app and get into a car that is already warm and clear.

  • Know how the car is

Engine temperature, fuel level and battery voltage, all on one screen without going outside to look.

Is the Storm Plus right for you?

Worth it for

Anybody who wants the Storm's certified immobiliser but also wants to know where the car is and hear about it the moment something happens.

Probably not for

Anybody who wants a full alarm with a siren and sensors on the car itself. The Storm Plus has no siren and no shock or tilt sensors, it is an immobiliser and a tracker rather than an alarm. For that, look at the Smart, the Smart Pro or the Elite.

Not sure which side of that you fall on? Tell us the make, model and year and what you are actually worried about, and we will tell you straight, including when the cheaper option is the right answer.

Ask us about your car

Full specification

Everything the Storm Plus is capable of. You will not use all of it, and that is fine. Ask us which parts actually matter on your car.

How you authorise it

  • Bluetooth encrypted driver tag, 128-bit encryption
  • Secret code sequence, entered on your vehicle's own dash and steering wheel buttons, on vehicles that support it
  • Pandora Connect smartphone app for Android and iOS, over Bluetooth or GSM
  • Android disarms seamlessly in the background; iOS opens the app
  • Works alongside your original factory key

Tracking and alerts

  • GPS tracking, viewable in the Pandora Connect app
  • Alerts by 4G push notification, call or text
  • Bluetooth control when you are near the car, GSM and 4G when you are not
  • AntiHijack: a safe, silent engine stop if the tag leaves the car after starting
  • Remote start available as an optional extra on supported vehicles
  • First 6 months of connectivity free, then £70 for 6 months or £125 for 12

What it fits

  • CAN bus and FD-CAN vehicles
  • Older, non-CAN vehicles wired the traditional way
  • Cars, vans and ATVs

Approval

  • Thatcham CAT 2 approved
  • Certificate TSC523, issued 17 October 2023

Specification per the manufacturer. Exact features can vary by vehicle and by version, so we will confirm what applies to yours before fitting.

Professionally installed by Securacar

The Storm Plus is only as good as the install

The box is the same wherever you buy it. What changes is where it ends up in the car and how cleanly it is wired in, and that is the part a thief actually has to beat. It is most of what you are paying us for, so it is worth saying plainly.

On the Pandora Storm Plus: the same placement questions apply as the Storm, working out whether your car has a modern data network worth using or needs the traditional wiring, plus routing for the GSM connection the plain Storm does not carry. That is decided on your specific vehicle rather than from a diagram.

  • Fitted where you are

At your home or your workplace, across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.

  • Hidden properly

The first thing a thief does is look for the unit. Where it goes is decided on your car, on the day, not copied from a diagram.

  • Shown how it works

Before we leave, you use it yourself with us stood there. Nobody drives off unsure which button does what.

  • TASSA approved

We are TASSA approved installers, which is a check on the people doing the work rather than on the box. It is the accreditation that exists precisely because a good system fitted badly is not a good system.

  • We are here afterwards

Questions a week later, or a year later, get answered. You are dealing with the person who fitted it, not a call centre.

Booking it

What happens if you go ahead

Four steps, no showroom visit and no deposit taken over the internet. Most people are booked in within a couple of minutes of picking up the phone.

  1. 01

    Tell us the car

Make, model and year, by phone, WhatsApp or the form below. We confirm the Storm Plus is right for your vehicle before anything is booked, and we will say so if it is not.

  2. 02

We price it for your car

No two vehicles are the same job, so you get a price for yours rather than a figure off a list. It is the price you pay, and nothing is booked until you are happy with it.

  3. 03

    We come to you

At your home or your workplace, at a time that suits you, anywhere across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.

  4. 04

You use it before we leave

We set it up with you, then watch you use it yourself. Nobody drives away unsure which button does what, and we are still here a year later if you have a question.

Storm Plus: worth knowing

The detail, if you want it

What actually changes between the Storm and the Storm Plus?+

Nothing about the immobiliser itself. Same Thatcham CAT 2 approval, same tag, code and app authorisation, same CAN bus, FD-CAN and traditional wiring support. What the Plus adds is a connected layer on top: GPS tracking, and alerts over GSM and 4G rather than nothing at all. Think of the Storm as the immobiliser, and the Plus as that immobiliser with a phone line added.

How does AntiHijack actually work?+

The car will only start with the Bluetooth tag detected close by. If the tag leaves that range after the engine is running, which is what happens if somebody takes the car from you, the system brings the engine to a safe, silent stop within around thirty seconds to a minute, giving you a chance to get clear rather than a confrontation. Whether it is available depends on the vehicle, and we will confirm that before anything is booked.

What does the mobile connection actually cost?+

The first six months of the GSM and tracking service are free. After that it runs at £70 for six months or £125 for twelve, so it is an ongoing cost rather than a one off. We will confirm the current terms before you commit to anything.

Is the code sequence available on my car?+

Sometimes, and it depends on the vehicle. Where it is supported it is the simplest option, nothing carried at all, just a sequence tapped out on buttons your car already has. Where it is not, the tag or the app cover the same ground. Tell us the make, model and year and we will tell you which options are open to you.

Pandora Storm Plus questions

Is the Storm Plus Thatcham approved?+

Yes. It holds Thatcham CAT 2 approval, certificate TSC523, issued in October 2023, alongside the plain Storm's TSC522. Check the exact wording your insurer uses and send it to us before you commit to anything.

Is the Storm Plus an alarm?+

No, not in the sense of a siren going off. There is no siren and no shock or tilt sensors on the car. It is an immobiliser and a tracker: it will not let the car be driven without authorisation, and it tells you about it and shows you where the car is. If you want a full alarm as well, look at the Smart, the Smart Pro or the Elite.

What does the mobile connection cost to run?+

The first six months are free. After that it is £70 for six months or £125 for twelve. We will confirm the current terms before you commit to anything.

What is the difference between the Storm and the Storm Plus?+

The immobiliser is identical: the same Thatcham CAT 2 approval, the same tag, code and app authorisation, and the same wide wiring support. The Storm Plus adds GPS tracking, alerts over GSM and 4G, and AntiHijack on top. If you do not need to know where the car is or to be told when something happens, the plain Storm does the same core job for less.

Will the Pandora Storm Plus fit my car?+

Most cars from the last fifteen years or so, yes, but it does depend on the make, model and year. Send us those three things and we will confirm before you commit to anything.

Where do you fit it?+

At your home or your workplace, anywhere across the North West. You hand over the keys at the start, we show you how it works at the end, and you get on with your day in between.

Will it affect my manufacturer warranty?+

What we fit is designed to sit alongside your car's own electronics and we do not cut into anything we should not. Manufacturers word their warranties differently though, so it is worth a quick check with your dealer first. We are happy to talk it through.
