Frequently asked questions
The things people ask us on driveways, written down. If yours is not here, ring us on 07841 331441 and just ask.
Booking and fitting
Do you really come to my house?+
Yes, that is how we work. Your driveway at home or the car park at work, anywhere across the North West. There is no garage visit and no day booked off work.
How long does the fitting take?+
Most cars are done in a morning. It does depend on the vehicle and the system, and we will give you a proper time when we speak, once we know what you drive.
Do I need to be there the whole time?+
Only at the start to hand over the keys, and at the end so we can show you how it works and set your codes. In between, get on with your day.
How quickly can you come out?+
Usually within a few days. Send us your postcode and what you drive and we will tell you the soonest we can be there.
What if it rains?+
We work in most weather. If conditions genuinely make it unsafe or risk a poor install, we will rearrange rather than rush it.
Choosing a system
Which system does my car need?+
It depends on the vehicle and what worries you. A Ghost stops it being driven off, a Pandora alarm tells you the second anything happens, and a tracker helps get it back. Tell us the make, model and year and we will be straight with you.
Will it fit my car?+
Most vehicles from the last fifteen years or so, but it does depend. Send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you commit to anything.
Am I going to get a hard sell?+
No. We ring, we ask about the car, we tell you what it needs. If that is nothing, we will say so and you have lost five minutes.
Do you fit systems people buy elsewhere?+
Sometimes, but it depends what it is. Ring us and ask. We would rather turn work down than fit something we cannot stand behind.
Warranty, insurance and running costs
Will it affect my manufacturer warranty?+
What we fit is designed to sit alongside your car's own electronics and we do not cut into things we should not. Manufacturers word their warranties differently though, so it is worth a quick check with your dealer first. We are happy to talk it through.
Do I need to tell my insurer?+
Yes, and it is usually good news rather than bad. It may reduce your premium, and it removes any argument later if you ever claim.
Is there a subscription?+
Alarms and immobilisers have no ongoing fee. Monitored trackers do, because there is a staffed control room behind them. We will be clear about that before you commit.
Will it drain my battery?+
These systems draw very little. If the car is going to be parked up for weeks at a time, tell us and we will set it up with that in mind.
Afterwards
What if I forget my code?+
We set it up with you and make sure you are comfortable before we leave. There is a recovery process if you genuinely forget, which we will walk you through.
What happens if I sell the car?+
Some systems can move to your next car and some are better left in place as a selling point. Ask us before you sell and we will tell you which.
What if something goes wrong?+
Ring the same number and you get the same person. We fitted it, so it is ours to sort out.
There is more detail in our buyer guides, which cover keyless theft, insurance requirements and how to choose between the systems.
Still not sure?
Tell us what you drive and what you are worried about. Nobody will try to sell you anything on the phone.
Ask us anything
Tell us about the car and we will ring you back, usually the same day. No charge for the advice and nobody will chase you afterwards.
Thanks, that is with us
We will ring you back shortly. If it is urgent, give us a call and we will pick up.
