Product description

For your peace of mind

Pandora Mini BT

The Mini BT is the smallest complete system in the range, and it works differently from the others in one important way: it runs in slave mode. Rather than giving you a new fob to carry, it watches your original key. You lock the car exactly as you always have, and the Mini BT arms itself off the back of that.

Underneath, it is a proper security system rather than a stripped back one. Two CAN connections let it read the car's own data, so it knows what the doors, the boot, the bonnet, the brake pedal and the battery voltage are doing. Shock and motion sensors and a 3D accelerometer handle everything the CAN bus cannot see. The immobiliser is released by a Bluetooth tag in your pocket over a 128-bit encrypted connection, and two of those come in the box.

It runs the Pandora Connect app over Bluetooth, so when you are near the car you can adjust how it behaves and check fuel level, battery status and mileage. It is deliberately frugal with power, so it does not stop the car going to sleep on the drive, and it can be added to over Bluetooth later with wireless sirens, extra sensors, relays or remotes if what you need changes, or with an OBD port immobiliser as a further optional extra.

Watch the explainer

What can the Mini BT do?

Your own key still works it

It runs in slave mode, watching your original fob. You lock the car the way you always have and the Mini BT arms itself. There is no new remote to carry or lose.

The tag has the final say

The immobiliser is released by a Bluetooth tag rather than your key, so a relayed or cloned key signal does not move the car. Two tags come in the box.

It reads the car itself

Two CAN connections let it see what the doors, boot, bonnet, brake pedal and battery are doing, rather than guessing from a sensor bolted on afterwards.

Small enough to disappear

The base unit is tiny, which means we can put it somewhere a thief would have to dismantle half the car to reach.

It leaves the battery alone

Very low power draw, and it does not stop the car's own systems going to sleep. That matters on a car that sits on the drive for days at a time.

You can add to it later

Wireless sirens, extra sensors, relays and remotes all pair to it over Bluetooth, so it can grow rather than be replaced if what you need changes.

Is the Mini BT right for you?

Worth it for

Anybody who wants proper hidden security on a smaller budget, without a new fob to carry or anything visible in the car.

Probably not for

Anybody who wants a loud siren as standard or to see where the car is from anywhere. A beeper comes in the box rather than a siren, and there is no GPS or mobile connection at all.

Not sure which side of that you fall on? Tell us the make, model and year and what you are actually worried about, and we will tell you straight, including when the cheaper option is the right answer.

Professionally installed by Securacar

The Mini BT is only as good as the install

The box is the same wherever you buy it. What changes is where it ends up in the car and how cleanly it is wired in, and that is the part a thief actually has to beat. It is most of what you are paying us for, so it is worth saying plainly.

On the Pandora Mini BT: it runs from your original key over the CAN bus, so the wiring is tidy by design and the whole job becomes about concealment. A unit this small can go somewhere that takes real dismantling to reach.

  • Fitted where you are

At your home or your workplace, across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.

  • Hidden properly

The first thing a thief does is look for the unit. Where it goes is decided on your car, on the day, not copied from a diagram.

  • Shown how it works

Before we leave, you use it yourself with us stood there. Nobody drives off unsure which button does what.

  • TASSA approved

We are TASSA approved installers, which is a check on the people doing the work rather than on the box. It is the accreditation that exists precisely because a good system fitted badly is not a good system.

  • We are here afterwards

Questions a week later, or a year later, get answered. You are dealing with the person who fitted it, not a call centre.

Booking it

What happens if you go ahead

Four steps, no showroom visit and no deposit taken over the internet. Most people are booked in within a couple of minutes of picking up the phone.

  1. 01

    Tell us the car

Make, model and year, by phone, WhatsApp or the form below. We confirm the Mini BT is right for your vehicle before anything is booked, and we will say so if it is not.

  2. 02

We price it for your car

No two vehicles are the same job, so you get a price for yours rather than a figure off a list. It is the price you pay, and nothing is booked until you are happy with it.

  3. 03

    We come to you

At your home or your workplace, at a time that suits you, anywhere across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.

  4. 04

You use it before we leave

We set it up with you, then watch you use it yourself. Nobody drives away unsure which button does what, and we are still here a year later if you have a question.

Mini BT: worth knowing

The detail, if you want it

What is slave mode?+

It means the Mini BT watches your original car key rather than replacing it. You lock the car exactly as you always have, and the system arms itself off the back of that. There is no new fob to carry and nothing extra to press, which is a large part of why people end up living with it rather than switching it off.

A beeper is not a siren. What is the difference?+

A beeper gives you confirmation tones and a warning noise. It is not the loud, sustained siren a full alarm carries, and we would rather say so plainly than let the word alarm do work it should not. A wireless siren can be added over Bluetooth if that is what you want, and we will quote it properly rather than leave you to assume.

What do the two CAN connections give it?+

They let the Mini BT read the car's own data: doors, boot, bonnet, brake pedal, battery voltage. That is more reliable than a sensor stuck on afterwards, and it keeps the installation clean because the information is already travelling through the vehicle. It also means fewer wires cut, which matters both for the car and for concealment.

Can I add to it later?+

Yes, and that is worth knowing before you buy. Wireless sirens, extra sensors, relays and remotes all pair over Bluetooth, so the Mini BT can grow rather than be replaced if what you need changes. An OBD port immobiliser is also available as an optional extra, cutting the signal from your OBD port whenever the system is armed. Tell us what you might want eventually and we will factor it into where things go on the day.

How far does Bluetooth actually reach?+

Roughly as far as you can see the car, and less through walls. That is the honest limit: the app is for when you are near the vehicle, not for checking on it from work. There is no SIM and no GPS, so nothing about the Mini BT reaches you from a distance. If that is what you need, look at the Smart.

Is the Mini BT Thatcham approved?+

Yes. It is approved to Thatcham Category 1, on the strength of the encrypted Bluetooth tag and factory key control. Send us your policy wording and we will confirm it satisfies what your insurer asks for before anything is booked.

Pandora Mini BT questions

Does the Mini BT track my car if it is stolen?+

No. It works over Bluetooth, which reaches about as far as you can see the car. There is no GPS and no SIM in it. If tracking matters to you, look at the Smart or the Smart Pro, which are built for exactly that.

Does it come with a siren?+

Not as standard. A beeper is supplied, which is enough for confirmation tones and a warning but is not a full alarm siren. A wireless siren can be added to it over Bluetooth, so tell us if that is what you want and we will quote for it properly rather than let you assume it is in there.

Do I have to carry another fob?+

No, and that is one of the nicer things about it. It runs from your original car key in what Pandora call slave mode, so you lock and unlock exactly as you do now. The only extra is the Bluetooth tag, which lives in your pocket or on your keyring and never needs pressing.

Is there anything to pay monthly?+

No. There is no SIM and no subscription. You pay for the system and the fitting and that is the end of it.

Will the Pandora Mini BT fit my car?+

Most cars from the last fifteen years or so, yes, but it does depend on the make, model and year. Send us those three things and we will confirm before you commit to anything.

Where do you fit it?+

At your home or your workplace, anywhere across the North West. You hand over the keys at the start, we show you how it works at the end, and you get on with your day in between.

Will it affect my manufacturer warranty?+

What we fit is designed to sit alongside your car's own electronics and we do not cut into anything we should not. Manufacturers word their warranties differently though, so it is worth a quick check with your dealer first. We are happy to talk it through.
