Two different jobs, done properly
The X-Series stops the car moving. The S7 finds it if something still goes wrong. Neither one pretends to do the other's work.
S7 tracking for recovery, the X-Series immobiliser for prevention
The S7 tracker for monitored recovery, and the X-Series, a separate silent immobiliser, for stopping the car being driven in the first place. Two units, fitted together, doing two different jobs.
This pairs two things that do different jobs. The S7 is Scorpion's Thatcham category S7 tracker: monitored around the clock, reporting where the vehicle is and putting a staffed control centre to work getting it back if it moves when it should not. On its own it is a recovery tool, and it makes no claim to be anything else.
The X-Series is what adds prevention. It is a separate silent immobiliser, wired into the vehicle's CAN bus rather than bolted on as an obvious box, and disarmed with your own code entered on buttons the car already has, four to twenty of them in whatever sequence you choose. There is no light, no sound and no radio frequency for anything to detect, and no subscription attached to it at all, unlike the tracker sitting alongside it.
Put together, the case is straightforward: the X-Series stops the car being driven in the first place, and the S7 is there if that fails, or if the car is taken some other way entirely, on a low loader or through a route the immobiliser cannot see. It is two products rather than one, and we will always say plainly if you already have prevention covered elsewhere and only need the tracking half.
The X-Series stops the car moving. The S7 finds it if something still goes wrong. Neither one pretends to do the other's work.
The X-Series gives off no light, sound or radio frequency, and lives in the CAN bus wiring rather than as a separate box with a wire to cut.
Four to twenty presses, in a sequence you choose, on the car's existing buttons. Nothing new to carry for the immobiliser side.
The S7 sits behind a staffed UK control centre, day and night, all year, ready to work with the police the moment the vehicle moves without you.
Only the S7's monitoring carries an ongoing cost. The X-Series is a one off, the same as any other immobiliser we fit.
Service Mode lets a garage move the car without your code, so a forgotten immobiliser does not turn into an awkward call at the counter.
Anybody who wants both prevention and monitored recovery from Scorpion's own range, and does not already have an alarm or immobiliser fitted elsewhere.
Anybody already having a Storm or a Ghost fitted. The X-Series does a similar prevention job to those, so the plain S7 tracker on its own covers the recovery side without paying for a second immobiliser.
Not sure which side of that you fall on? Tell us the make, model and year and what you are actually worried about, and we will tell you straight, including when the cheaper option is the right answer.
Ask us about your carEverything the S7 + X-Series is capable of. Ask us which parts actually matter on your vehicle, and what your insurer has asked for.
Specification per the manufacturer. Hardware and app features vary between revisions, so we will confirm what applies to yours before fitting.
Professionally installed by Securacar
The box is the same wherever you buy it. What changes is where it ends up in the car and how cleanly it is wired in, and that is the part a thief actually has to beat. It is most of what you are paying us for, so it is worth saying plainly.
On the ScorpionTrack S7 + X-Series Immobiliser: two units, not one, so the job is really two installations done properly rather than a single wiring job. The tracker and its aerial need a position with sky to report from and awkwardness enough to survive a sweep, and the X-Series needs to be spliced into the CAN bus cleanly, with your button sequence set up and tested before we call it finished.
At your home or your workplace, across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.
The first thing a thief does is look for the unit. Where it goes is decided on your car, on the day, not copied from a diagram.
Before we leave, you use it yourself with us stood there. Nobody drives off unsure which button does what.
We are TASSA approved installers, which is a check on the people doing the work rather than on the box. It is the accreditation that exists precisely because a good system fitted badly is not a good system.
Questions a week later, or a year later, get answered. You are dealing with the person who fitted it, not a call centre.
Booking it
Four steps, no showroom visit and no deposit taken over the internet. Most people are booked in within a couple of minutes of picking up the phone.
Make, model and year, by phone, WhatsApp or the form below. We confirm the S7 + X-Series is right for your vehicle before anything is booked, and we will say so if it is not.
No two vehicles are the same job, so you get a price for yours rather than a figure off a list. It is the price you pay, and nothing is booked until you are happy with it.
At your home or your workplace, at a time that suits you, anywhere across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.
We set it up with you, then watch you use it yourself. Nobody drives away unsure which button does what, and we are still here a year later if you have a question.
The detail, if you want it
They do two different jobs and come from two different parts of the range: the S7 is Scorpion's tracker, and the X-Series is a standalone silent immobiliser fitted alongside it. Together you get recovery from the tracker and prevention from the immobiliser, which is exactly the argument for pairing the two rather than picking one. This guide sets out why prevention and recovery are different jobs.
The same idea: silent, hidden in the CAN bus wiring, disarmed with your own code entered on buttons the car already has, nothing for a thief to find. The X-Series is not Thatcham categorised, where a Ghost's approval status depends on the exact model, so check your policy wording either way before deciding it matters to your decision.
Tell us in advance and we can talk you through Service Mode, which temporarily lets the vehicle start without the code so a garage can move it. Turn it back on once you have it back. It is worth sorting before the first service rather than at the counter.
It gives off no light, no sound and no radio frequency, and it lives inside the CAN bus wiring rather than as a separate box with an obvious wire to cut. Nothing in security is absolute, but there is very little for a thief to find or trace.
Two: the ScorpionTrack S7 tracker and the Scorpion X-Series immobiliser, fitted together at the same visit. They come from different parts of the range and do different jobs, which is exactly why pairing them makes sense rather than a reason to expect one integrated box.
Probably not the X-Series. It does a similar prevention job to those, so fitting it alongside one is paying twice for the same protection. The S7 tracker on its own gives you the recovery side without duplicating anything.
No, and it is not required to be at present. The S7 tracker alongside it is the Thatcham S7 approved component. If your policy specifically requires an approved immobiliser, tell us and we will check what satisfies it.
No. Only the S7's monitoring carries an ongoing cost. The X-Series is paid for once, the same as any other immobiliser we fit.
Yes, and there has to be. The subscription pays for the staffed control room watching the vehicle and the recovery service behind it, not for the box itself. We will tell you what it costs before you commit to anything, and we will tell you honestly if a monitored system is more than you actually need.
Almost certainly. Trackers are far less fussy about make and model than an alarm is, because they are not talking to the car's own systems in the same way. Send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you commit to anything.
At your home or your workplace, anywhere across the North West. You hand over the keys at the start, we show you how the app works at the end, and you get on with your day in between.
Tell us what you drive, where you are, and what your insurer has asked for. We will come back to you the same day where we can.
We will ring you back shortly. If it is urgent, give us a call and we will pick up.
