No tag, no start
The Automatic Driver Recognition tag is not just for the control centre's benefit. Without it present, the vehicle will not start at all.
Driver recognition, monitored tracking, and the car will not start without the tag
The S5-VTS with one addition that matters: the car will not start unless the Automatic Driver Recognition tag is present. Monitored tracking and prevention from the same unit, rather than the tracker doing recovery alone.
The S5+ starts from the same place as the S5-VTS, Thatcham category S5 tracking with an Automatic Driver Recognition tag, and adds the one thing that plain tracking cannot do: it stops the car being driven at all without that tag present. Carry it and the vehicle behaves exactly as normal. Leave it behind and the vehicle will not start, so the protection is not waiting for a control centre to notice something has already gone wrong.
That does not replace the monitoring, it sits alongside it. If the vehicle is moved without the tag detected, an alert reaches the 24/7 UK control centre, who contact you to rule out the obvious before anything else happens. If a theft is confirmed, their Vehicle Recovery Specialists can also send a remote immobilisation command, working with the police while the vehicle is still moving rather than at the roadside.
Day to day it is the app: live location, journey history, geo-fenced areas, transport and garage modes for when the car is legitimately away from you, and Touch ID or PIN login to keep it to yourself. It is a heavier piece of security than a plain tracker, and the right choice when you want the immobilisation living in the same box as the recovery rather than as a second separate system.

Confirm a theft with the control centre and their Vehicle Recovery Specialists can send a remote immobilisation command, working with the police while the vehicle is still moving.
A staffed control centre, day and night, all year, run from Scorpion's own UK facility.
Live location and journey history in the app, useful if you lend the car out or run it as a van somebody else drives.
Set a geo-fenced area and be told when the vehicle enters or leaves it.
Transport and garage modes for when the vehicle is legitimately being moved or serviced, so an honest event does not read as a theft.
Anybody who wants the immobilisation and the monitored tracking living in one system rather than two, and anybody whose insurer or a manufacturer-approved scheme names Scorpion specifically.
Anybody already fitting a separate alarm or immobiliser such as the Storm or a Ghost. You would be paying for a second prevention layer on top of one you already have, and the plain S5-VTS covers the tracking side for less.
Not sure which side of that you fall on? Tell us the make, model and year and what you are actually worried about, and we will tell you straight, including when the cheaper option is the right answer.
Ask us about your carEverything the S5+ is capable of. Ask us which parts actually matter on your vehicle, and what your insurer has asked for.
Specification per the manufacturer. Hardware and app features vary between revisions, so we will confirm what applies to yours before fitting.
Professionally installed by Securacar
The box is the same wherever you buy it. What changes is where it ends up in the car and how cleanly it is wired in, and that is the part a thief actually has to beat. It is most of what you are paying us for, so it is worth saying plainly.
On the ScorpionTrack S5+: the unit and its aerial need a position with enough sky to work reliably and enough awkwardness that somebody sweeping the vehicle does not find it in the first minute, the same balancing act as any tracker. The Automatic Driver Recognition tag then has to be handed over and set up with you before we consider the job finished.
At your home or your workplace, across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.
The first thing a thief does is look for the unit. Where it goes is decided on your car, on the day, not copied from a diagram.
Before we leave, you use it yourself with us stood there. Nobody drives off unsure which button does what.
We are TASSA approved installers, which is a check on the people doing the work rather than on the box. It is the accreditation that exists precisely because a good system fitted badly is not a good system.
Questions a week later, or a year later, get answered. You are dealing with the person who fitted it, not a call centre.
Booking it
Four steps, no showroom visit and no deposit taken over the internet. Most people are booked in within a couple of minutes of picking up the phone.
Make, model and year, by phone, WhatsApp or the form below. We confirm the S5+ is right for your vehicle before anything is booked, and we will say so if it is not.
No two vehicles are the same job, so you get a price for yours rather than a figure off a list. It is the price you pay, and nothing is booked until you are happy with it.
At your home or your workplace, at a time that suits you, anywhere across the North West. You hand the keys over at the start and get on with your day.
We set it up with you, then watch you use it yourself. Nobody drives away unsure which button does what, and we are still here a year later if you have a question.
The detail, if you want it
Mechanically similar in spirit, tag present or the car does not start, but this one lives inside a Thatcham S5 tracker rather than as its own separate product. If a theft goes ahead anyway, the control centre can also immobilise the vehicle remotely once they have confirmed it with you, which a standalone immobiliser cannot do because it has no monitoring centre behind it.
Two things at once. It is what the vehicle checks for before it will start, and it is what the control centre checks for when deciding whether movement is normal or worth an alert. Carry it and the car behaves as usual. Leave it behind and the car will not start, and if it somehow does move, that alone is flagged.
Once a theft is confirmed with you, yes, their Vehicle Recovery Specialists can send a remote immobilisation command. This happens in coordination with the police rather than at the roadside, and it will not cut the engine at speed. Anybody describing that as an instant kill switch is describing something that does not exist and should not.
Sometimes, and we will say so. If you are fitting a Storm or a Ghost as well, you already have prevention, and the S5+'s own immobilisation is doing a similar job to that. The case for the S5+ over the plain S5-VTS is the belt and braces of automatic immobilisation living inside the tracker itself, not a reason to fit two prevention layers you will never need both of. Our guide sets out how the categories actually stack.
Immobilisation. Both are Thatcham S5, both carry an Automatic Driver Recognition tag, and both are monitored around the clock. The S5+ additionally will not let the vehicle start without that tag present. If you only want tracking and driver recognition, the S5-VTS does that for less.
It can, for the specific job of stopping the car being driven off. It has no siren and no sensors though, so if you also want to be told when somebody leans on the car or tries a door, that is still a job for an alarm rather than a tracker.
Tell us and we will sort a replacement. Until then the vehicle will not start without it, which is the entire point, so it is worth treating it the way you would a spare key.
No, and nobody should tell you otherwise. Remote immobilisation is sent once a theft is confirmed with you, and it is coordinated with the police rather than used to cut the engine at speed.
Yes, and there has to be. The subscription pays for the staffed control room watching the vehicle and the recovery service behind it, not for the box itself. We will tell you what it costs before you commit to anything, and we will tell you honestly if a monitored system is more than you actually need.
Almost certainly. Trackers are far less fussy about make and model than an alarm is, because they are not talking to the car's own systems in the same way. Send us the make, model and year and we will confirm before you commit to anything.
At your home or your workplace, anywhere across the North West. You hand over the keys at the start, we show you how the app works at the end, and you get on with your day in between.
Tell us what you drive, where you are, and what your insurer has asked for. We will come back to you the same day where we can.
We will ring you back shortly. If it is urgent, give us a call and we will pick up.
