Pandora Elite vs Smart Pro: which should you choose?

These are the two Pandora systems we fit most often, and the choice between them comes down to one question: do you want a physical remote and tracking, or is your phone enough?

What they share

Both are proper alarm systems, and the core job is identical:

• Shock, tilt and movement sensors
• Protection against relay attacks on keyless cars
• Full control from an app on your phone
• Immediate alerts, wherever you are
• Hidden install with nothing on show

If your requirement is “stop my car being taken and tell me if anyone tries”, both do that. Neither is a compromise on the fundamentals.

What the Elite adds

An OLED remote control. A two way fob with a screen that tells you what the car is doing. Some people never take it out of the drawer. Others would not be without it, particularly if they park somewhere with poor phone signal.

Fuller tracking and telemetry. Position, journey history, and more detailed reporting on what the car is doing.

More capability generally. Remote start, deeper climate integration, richer alerts.

Who should get which

The Smart Pro is right if:

• Your phone is always on you and you are happy running everything from it
• The car is a family car or van that lives on the driveway
• You want the alarm job done properly without paying for extras you will not use

The Elite is right if:

• You want tracking built into the same system rather than a separate tracker
• A physical remote appeals, or you park somewhere with poor signal
• The car is valuable enough that you want every layer switched on
• You will actually use remote start on winter mornings

The honest steer

Most people who ring us describing a family car end up with the Smart Pro, and are pleased with it. It does the important things and does not ask you to learn anything.

The Elite earns its place on higher value cars, or where somebody genuinely wants the remote and the tracking in one system rather than buying a tracker separately. If you were going to fit both an alarm and a tracker anyway, the Elite is worth pricing as a single answer.

If you are undecided, that usually means the Smart Pro. People who need the Elite tend to know why.

What neither will do

Neither is a substitute for a hidden immobiliser if your single fear is the car being driven off the drive. Pandora systems include immobilisation, but a Ghost is a different kind of protection: silent, with nothing to look at, and very difficult to find.

They are separate systems that do separate jobs, so which one is right depends on what you are actually worried about. Ring us and we will tell you.
